In the never-ending war against spam, I’m always looking for new ways to prevent spam articles from appearing on Ubscure. The latest update to the site includes the addition of ReCaptcha, a captcha service that displays codes that need to be typed in before an article can be submitted. Many of you are probably quite familiar with ReCaptcha codes. It’s an extremely popular service across the web.
When you log in to your author account you’ll see the captcha box at the bottom of the article submission page. All you have to do once you’re done typing your article is type in the words displayed in the captcha box and hit submit. If you are having trouble reading the words in the captcha just click on the little icon that looks like spinning arrows to load new words. You can do this as many times as you’d like until the words are readable.
The captcha looks like this:

I know that most of you are very high quality authors, so I don’t want you to think that this is designed to punish everyone. In reality, it should allow me to cut down the number of spam submissions, thus allowing me to focus on the quality articles written by all the quality authors at Ubscure. This will substantially improve the approval time for each of your articles. Over the coming weeks, you should all see a large decrease in the amount of time it takes to get articles approved.
Best,
Patrick Brady
